We are delighted to announce our next guided visit will be to the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight. Print collector Frank Milner will give a talk about the stunning Toyohara Kunichika exhibition of Japanese Prints.
The exhibition shows works which Frank has collected and lent to the gallery for this display. Kunichika, a significant print maker in 19th Century Japan, made striking prints exploring a time of great change and themes such as politics in Japanese history. He was also well known for making images of Kabuki theatre and depicted scenes from popular plays featuring famous actors. A variety of Kunichika’s hand-printed single, double and triptych prints will be on display. The exhibition runs from 15 April to 4 September 2022. The trip will be led by Gill Curry and Linda Jones.

*Frank has kindly asked for his fee for the talk to be donated to The Trussell Trust, a charity who support a nationwide network of food banks and provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.
