I use my work to explore my interest in Modernist architecture and organic forms.

These playful pieces explore balance, shape and space often creating sculptures that are reminiscent of childhood building toys, Brutalist buildings and 1970’s sci-fi.

I make a selection of component parts that are assembled, joined and slotted together, using repetition and chance to make pieces that are lively, fluid and structural.

I use a limited colour palette of different stoneware clays and use a combination of mono printed underglaze and oxide based colours on the surfaces. The pieces are hand-built with a combination of slab building and extruding. The coloured layers are then revealed through the firing process which gives a rich, energetic surface to the work.
