"I am a UK based jeweller, using textile techniques to combine silver & found objects to make little pieces of wearable history. I use silver & hand stitched silk threads to add layers of colour & texture, & work with found objects from beach combing & metal detecting finds, as well as mudlarking along the River Thames. I particularly like those everyday objects, such as pins, buttons & nails, that have been made by the hands of past generations & show signs of a previous life & use in their shape, erosion or patina. They are worked on by my hands to give them a new chapter in their history.
After a career as a nurse, I decided to return to study as a mature student, & graduated with a degree in Applied Arts in 2008. I exhibit at shows across the UK, & my work is in The Goldsmiths' Company's permanent collection. In March 2025 I received a silver award for Conceptual Jewellery at the Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council awards.
I hold a Creative Mudlarking Permit from the Port of London Authority which allows me to sell items found along the River Thames in my jewellery."
