This jewellery collection consists of small, wearable sculptural drawings in precious metals. Each one is fabricated from lengths of wire and sections of sheet, put through multiple processes until they begin to echo the varied forms and marks. A length of wire becomes a dense dark scribble, a flake of sheet suggests a fallen leaf, a spiral of metal becomes a fallen spring. They sit as they are made, mismatched companions, each showing the others uniqueness, jostling with quiet energy like strange signs and symbols from a lost language of quick scribbles, scrawls and discarded elements. These pieces come from my daily practice of drawing and painting combining with the familiar ways of handling metal developed through my work as a silversmith. They are a fresh new aspect of my creative practice, small works made to be individual, accessible and fun to wear.
