PSS Workshops 2016/17: Elizabeth Willow

Paper Workshop at the Umbrella Centre

January 2017

Elizabeth’s ‘Paper Pleasures’ workshops taught participants the delights of paper, giving them time to create an array of cards, simple books and boxes. These could be used to gather thoughts, share wishes, collect treasures, and provide a place to keep and explore ideas and dreams.

The group tested grains of different paper, experimented using traditional tools and learned terms of different aspects of book making.

“Paper is lovely, familiar and tactile. We used this ordinary material to make extraordinary things.”
