Our 2017-2018 cycle of artist residencies was called ‘Making a Bigger Difference’. It was funded by the Foyle Foundation, with support from The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.
The residencies were led by four North West-based craft makers with local hospital partners: Ruth Ball at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital; Sian Hughes at Broadgreen Hospital; Verity Pulford at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust; and Caroline Gregson at our new partner, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Each residency took place over an 8-week period, with each maker leading two workshops per week with patients, relatives, clinicians, volunteers and staff.
