After two years it is good to be able to announce a new Liverpool-based visit organised by Linda and Gill.
Nicola Scott, Exhibition Curator, will give a tour of Past Present Future: Celebrating Craft at the Walker Art Gallery. The artists in this show are Julia Carter Preston, Emma Rodgers, Jacob Chan, David and Margaret Frith, Halima Cassell, Hugh Miller, Attila Olah, Claire Curneen and Paul Scott. Included in the exhibition is a display of glass, ceramics, metal and textiles celebrating 50 years of Craft Collecting at the Walker, including a new acquisition of a piece by metalsmith Francisca Onumah. Nicola will offer a ‘behind-the-scenes’ insight.
We will then walk across to the Bluecoat to have coffee or tea in the Bluecoat Hub and then see the exhibition at the Bluecoat Display Centre dedicated to Stephen Dixon and Paul Scott.
Both artists are well known for their research and work with ceramics, as well as political and social commentary. Samantha Rhodes, the Bdc Director, will talk about this exciting exhibition by the two internationally renowned ceramicists exhibiting together for the first time at the BDC.
The visit will begin at the Walker Art Gallery – meet in the foyer for 10am.
Tickets cost £7.50 and include the talks and refreshments at the Bluecoat. Book your place via email or telephone:
