During July, we are delighted to show a new collection of Vitreous enamel on steel pieces by David Rhys Jones In the Window.
David also incorporates charred and waxed oak with cast silver using the lost wax method. He uses these materials to explore depicting the natural world and imagery of Liverpool, juxtaposing enamel against metals.
David trained at Central Saint Martins and has exhibited widely, including the V&A Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts. He has recently been commissioned to produce a sculpture for Spitalfields. His work can also be seen in Culture Bound East Wing Collection VII at the Courtauld Institute of Art, Somerset House, London. In 2010 he was joint winner of the Jerwood Contemporary Makers Prize, and his work is held in many private and public collections, including the Tate.
A selection of works from David’s In the Window display are available to purchase from our online shop.
