Material: Mixed Media | Location: Lancashire
I am a botanical printmaker and mixed media artist, from Lancashire, inspired by flora, the outdoor world and material combinations. My pieces are created by directly printing and paper cutting responsibly foraged flowers and leaves, which are then combined with an array of materials to create abstract collages.
My work focuses on creating calming compositions which have nature as their focus, guiding the viewer to take a moment to pause, slow down and consider their relationship with the natural world. I enjoy the challenge of taking something discarded and giving it a new life, with my work often featuring recycled materials.
My creative process is heavily influenced by my background in sculpture and glassblowing, with my work incorporating circular and organic forms. The circles within my work are representative of the infinite lifecycle of all living things, and our interconnection with the natural world.
