Berina Kelly

Born in Galway, Berina trained with the Crafts Council of Ireland as a Goldsmith, she went onto achieve a first class honours Degree in Fine and Applied Art in Belfast. Berina then gained valuable experience working in several studios including as the technician for the Degree in Jewellery at University of Ulster, Belfast and with Jewellery Designer, Froukje Idsardi in Delft, The Netherlands. Since 1999, she has worked from her studio in Galway. Berina’s work is immersed in nature and influenced greatly by her surroundings in the West of Ireland, she designs and makes exhibition and collectable pieces in sterling silver and 18ct gold. Berina likes to sometimes add wood, paper, semi-precious beads and stones to her work, she also designs small collections blending elements of her one-off pieces, in sterling silver; the collections include neckpieces, brooches, earrings and rings.
Berina has exhibited Nationally and Internationally. One of her Art of Gold pieces can be seen in the permanent collections at The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.
