Caitlin Murphy is an award winning Northern Irish Maker and a third-generation silversmith who has a passion for challenging boundaries through making, creating, and designing. By folding and working with metal as if it is paper, she achieves unique sculptural pieces.
Her most recent successes include becoming a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust Emerging Maker Scholar, being named Retail Jeweller’s Emerging Jeweller of the Year and recently had two pieces purchased for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s permanent collection.
Following on from her silversmithing and jewellery degree at the Glasgow School of Art, Caitlin completed two years at Bishopsland Educational Trust on their postgraduate course. Here, she was supported by the South Square Trust with multiple silversmithing awards. Caitlin will be heading back to Glasgow School of Art in November to become an Artist in Residence.
