Chris Turrell
Material: Ceramics | Location: Merseyside
Chris Turrell’s figurative work explores the quieter side of masculinity. Influenced by poetry, Modernism and works by Paul Klee, he works intuitively creating unique character studies imagining the stories and thoughts of each portrait.
He hopes to create pieces that intrigue the viewer and provide moments of contemplation and thoughtfulness.
Chris uses a variety of different stoneware clay bodies to give rich backgrounds for brightly coloured slips and oxides to create vibrant and lively surfaces.
