Emma Westmacott

Material: Ceramics | Location: Cheshire
Emma’s ceramics are inspired by the concrete formwork surfaces found in Brutalist architecture. Her distinct industrial slip-cast terracotta pieces have rich textured surfaces enhanced with contrasting glazes. She casts using moulds stacked in layers making each piece unique. The use of local terracotta slip with its beautiful rich red tone, also roots her work in the urban landscape of her north west environment. Emma works from her garden studio based in the Cheshire countryside.
