My collection ‘Reflections and Refractions’ is inspired by the ocean, and the interaction of light and water.
The project responded to a series of underwater photographs showing the patterns of water surfaces and the play of light on the sea floor.

The delicate look of the light brought to mind lace and sheer fabrics and led me to this final collection of pieces evoking the movement of water through manipulated fabric, digital embroidery and hand embellishment.
Each of the four pieces explores a different aspect of the ocean, from the rocky sea floor to the reflection of the sky on the surface.
