The City as Muse

I am interested in how we inhabit, engage with and psychologically respond to the built environment. This provides me with a lens through which I explore themes of repetition, (dis)order, beauty, and examine the traces of human presence embedded within it. Working with clay allows me to reinterpret the city’s material and physical landscape, creating work that exists as a hybrid of urban structure and human experience. My sculptures seek to capture the dialogue between people and place, revealing how our presence both shapes, and is shaped by, the environments we inhabit and how the two are inextricably bound.
