Material: Ceramics | Location: Shropshire
Using stoneware, slips and glazes to ‘draw’ into the surfaces, I like to approach the clay as a fine artist. Hand-building slabs of clay; merging traditional making techniques with contemporary ceramics to make highly emotive and expressive figurative sculpture.

I use clay to communicate a semi-autobiographical narrative; one which explores emotion, imagination and story-telling. Drawing upon my passion for psychology, I use my own experiences to explore the universal human condition, both as an internal and external dialogue. I wish to make work which is uplifting, joyful and slightly unnerving, using the sculpture as a platform for discussion and conversations to take place.

I am interested in a shared experience, rather than making work which is still and ornamental or object.

A sense of place and a sense of community is important to me, and I like to share my workshop with others in my home town of Wellington, Telford.
