I create because I love to add something that is missing from most modern design experiences, be it a small taste of our heritage or reinventing part of our design history, to reinventing part of a traditional craft to spring into our lives renewed. The joy of figuring out a method to achieve my designs in elegant and ambitious ways is something I love to explore whilst maintaining the purity and simplicity of the overall design.

When I work I use craftsmanship to tie my design into reality. Whether I am using my skills as a greenwood worker, basket maker or as a woodworker and carver to create joints or fixings that best suit the task and accent the design with my expressionisms. As I process a concept I imagine the finished piece and how to weather a family home, being strained, climbed on, enjoyed, loved and used.
