To start the new year we are delighted to show a small group of works by Michael Brennand-Wood, complementing his upcoming solo exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum between 18 January – 18 March 2023.
‘The Encirclement Of Space’ charts the influence of lace on Michael’s work from the earliest examples made as a student in the 1970s to his most recent commission. The exhibition contains the largest collection of his lace works ever shown together, representing all stages of his lace research.
At the Bdc, we will be showing a selling group of his smaller works, including pieces from his ‘Spells’ and ‘Objects’ series.
We are also delighted to announce a guided trip to The Williamson on Saturday 25th February 2023 for a guided tour led by Michael. This is a unique opportunity to hear Michael speak about a selection of his key pieces featured in The Encirclement of Space. Click here to read more about the visit and see how to book a place.
